Blend Time Homogeneity Analysis in Downstream Processing
Abstract: Within a new manufacturing facility, the downstream processing tanks were being called into question regarding blend time uniformity, in this specific case we look at the VIN Vessel. The main purpose of this vessel is a pH read and adjustment and the issue are the placement of the pH probe. A simple approach was to analyze the blend time by conducting a tracer study in the vessel and determine if the pH probe would be viewing the same degree of mixing as other test points within the vessel. MixIT made it possible to solve this type of issue before it was too late since the vessel was in the process of being commissioned and qualified.
